Local people are encouraged to learn how to secure their future by attending free financial information sessions being provided next month.
Ms Bird said the Financial Information Service seminars are a regular, local, practical avenue for people of all ages to gain information on a range of important topics.
“The Australian Government has offered the Financial Information Service for over 20 years, educating millions of people by providing information to help them plan for their future security,” Ms Bird said.
The experienced Financial Information Service Officers can show you how to make informed financial decisions and help you understand the consequences of those decisions in the short, medium and long term.
“These seminars are designed to help you understand the basics around shares, investment, property and superannuation as well as options in retirement, said Stephen Jones
“If you are considering investing in property or shares, changing jobs or superannuation accounts, preparing for retirement or moving into residential care – come along to understand all the financial options available to you.”
Upcoming local seminar, “Protecting your assets” will be held at the Wollongong Service Centre, 43 Burelli Street, on the 13 November at 6:30pm.
