Federal Member for Cunningham, Sharon Bird, today welcomed the release of free WI-Fi to Central Wollongong. The free Wi Fi extends from Denison Street in the East, along Crown Street to Corrimal Street in the West.
The Crown Street Mall received investment from the Federal Government through Round Two of the Regional Development Australia Fund (RDAF) for major refurbishments.
“This is really exciting for all local people and business in Wollongong,” Sharon Bird said. “The Federal Government contributed nearly $5 million toward the Crown Street Mall Refurbishment Project, and the rollout of free Wi-Fi was part of that”.
The revitalisation of the Crown Street mall supports the growth and development of the city centre.
“The improved facilities will strengthen economic opportunities for retailers while providing a social dividend for the community and visitors”. Sharon Bird said.
