Local company demonstrates IRIIF project success

Local MPs today received a demonstration by local company Itree of new software created using the successful Illawarra Region Innovation and Investment Fund (IRIIF).

Sharon_today.jpgItree received nearly $840,000 in funding through the first round of the IRIIF to expand their RegulationWorks software, which provides safety, security and intelligence management functionality for regulatory, compliance and enforcement agencies.

“The Illawarra Region Innovation and Investment Fund was created to secure jobs and diversify the Illawarra’s economic and employment base, and it is fantastic to see Itree’s success in achieving these goals” Member for Cunningham, Sharon Bird said.

“The demonstration of the RegulationWorks program has been very impressive and it is great to see innovative programs such as this taking place, and creating jobs right here in the Illawarra with the help of this grant” Ms Bird said.

“This project is just one example of how local businesses can succeed in creating new and innovative projects using this fund” Ms Bird said.

“Itree have achieved their employment goals with this project by creating more than 20 jobs for local workers, showing the IRIIF is able to produce real results for the people of the Illawarra” Member for Throsby, Stephen Jones said.

“The projects currently underway through the IRIIF are expected to generate 680 new, full time equivalent jobs and more than $62 million in total project investment by June 2014” Mr Jones said.
