Southern Youth and Family Services have received $39,800 in funding from the Gillard Government’s Youth Development and Support Program (YDSP).
“This funding is a fantastic boost for the community and will help Southern Youth and Family Services provide much needed assistance to young people in Cunningham” Ms Bird said.
The Connect-Ed Youth project will introduce young people to training and employment opportunities and expand their knowledge and aspirations for future options. The young people will design, build and paint signage for a community facility while undertaking training in carpentry, signage and painting. The young people will participate in a Supported Learning Plan.
Since 2009, 101 organisations have received funding under the YDSP supporting more than 130,000 young people. More than $480,000 will be invested in YDSP to help hundreds of young Australians get ready for further study, training and work.
