“This grant means RDA Illawarra will be able to create pathways and initiatives for low income older people to manage energy efficiency through a trial of 500 low income ‘older person’ households,” Sharon Bird said.

The second round of grants under the Clean Energy Future package will receive a total $110 million.

“Today’s announcement shows how the carbon price is funding smart, cost-effective improvements in low income households, community facilities, councils and businesses across Australia,” Ms Bird said today.

“Improving energy efficiency across the economy is central our Clean Energy Future. It will play a pivotal role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, cutting energy costs and boosting productivity.”

“This grant has been provided through the Low Income Energy Efficiency Program as part of the Federal Labor Government’s Clean Energy Future Program” Ms Bird said.
